Dear Lee, Once again you have inspired us all to try something new and encouraged us when things seem to go wrong.
Lee, Thank you for everything you have taught me this year. Discovering art has been a real joy and you provide the perfect environment to do this. I look forward to continuing.
Dear Lee, I want to let you know how excited I am to come to art every week. You create such an easy and relaxed atmosphere. You're slowly teaching me how to relax and go with the flow when painting – "it's only paint" so mistakes can be fixed! I've surprised myself as I haven't done anything since grade 7 (a couple of years ago!) and I'm sure that's because of the way you helped me – showed me what to do but let me do things myself.
Love from Jane xx
Dear Lee, Thank you for the past 10 weeks. You told me at the beginning of my classes, that they were more than learning to paint – they were therapy and you are so right. I have had some challenges over the past 10 weeks, however your classes were always the highlight of my week – to take my mind off other "stuff" and spend time with a lovely bunch of people and produce something I am proud of – not an easy thing for a perfectionist to say. Thank you again for everything.
"Dear Lee, Thank you so much for teaching me how to paint. I really like it and I think you are really good at painting. The Best!! I love the way you make it look so easy and the way you love to paint. You inspire me so I keep painting just like you."
From Sarah Nutt (Aged 9 years)
"Dear Lee, Thank you for all your kindness, support and laughter during the past year. Joining your class was the best thing I ever did in Brisbane and I'll treasure it as a wonderful memory. I will really miss everyone but hope to keep up the painting".
"Dear Lee, Thank you for making the painting lessons so much fun. With all your encouragement I shall be back for the next term."
Sincerely, Jane Hassell
"I'm really enjoying your classes Lee. It's so much fun. The ladies are all so wonderful too. This is the best thing I've done in a while. Can't wait till next Wednesday night! I can't stop thinking of painting; I think I've caught a bug. I wish I had more time to do it; I just have to be patient."
So a big Thank You to you."
"I can't thank you enough for such a wonderful year. Coming to art classes has been a highlight for me. I've learnt such a lot, but it's the relaxed, friendly and social atmosphere that you have created that has made each week so enjoyable."
"Can I just say how nice it is to be in your class, I have not painted for well over a year due to ill health and "losing my spark" but I'm glad to say I'm thinking I'm getting it back. Thank you for making Jan and I welcome."
Congratulations on a fantastic event last Saturday night and the exhibition was a credit to you and your incredible teachers. Thank you for organising it for us and thank you for my star!"
"You will never know how much you and your painting classes have meant to me. It was always about more than painting. You gave me a new lease of life when I was quite down. Thank you for your patience, encouragement and friendship over the years I get great enjoyment from seeing my paintings hanging on my walls.
Thank you and best wishes."
Dear Lee, (and Lilly of course!)
"I have had a wonderful year at Lilly-Lee. I so enjoy coming and spending time with you and the other girls. This time is now something I will not compromise and I am kicking myself I didn't start a long time ago. Thanks for your friendship and for sharing your talant with us. Merry Christmas
