ANN-MARIE
GRANGER
After struggling unsuccessfully to learn from a book,
Ann-Marie met the husband of her future teacher when he was demonstrating
calligraphy during Japan week in the Mt. Coot-tha Japanese gardens. She was
delighted to discover that lessons were to start soon.
That was almost five years ago. At school she was a very
average art student, but the way Sumi-e is taught, has allowed her to
progress regardless of her previous experience and she still looks forward
to every lesson.
In 2008 Ann-Marie's work was submitted to Japan for
exhibition in and subsequently she received approval to teach.
Ann-Marie teaches Sumi-e at Lilly-Lee Gallery
on alternate Saturdays from 2:00 to 4:00
pm,
